The symbols in What on Earth include an orange sun, a cherry comet, Saturn in the form of plums, a melon planet, a green coloured meteor, and an alien face from the porthole of his spacecraft. The wild symbol in the game is the What on Earth logo and there are three scatter symbols: a green flying saucer, a blue spaceship, and a red spacecraft. The wild symbol replaces only the alien face in the porthole and spacecraft console symbols.

There are cool features to help you win big payouts while playing What on Earth. The Beam 'Em Up bonus is triggered by landing 3 blue spaceship or green flying saucers on reels 3, 4, and 5 triggers this bonus. You can also trigger this bonus by landing 3 red spacecraft symbols across any 3 adjacent reels. You need to click on an alien to discover your reward - a multiplier between 3x and 200x, the Contest symbol that gives you a chance to participate in a contest, or a globe, which triggers the Destination bonus.

In the Contest mini-game you select one of 5 aliens that appear on screen to represent you and compete with the rest as they beam up earthlings. You score points for each earthling you beam up as the timer runs and the more points you score the higher your multiplier value shoots up. The game ends once the timer runs out and the aliens are ranked based on the points scored. How much you score depends on your ranking.

If the reward that you get when clicking on one of the aliens is a globe you get the Destination bonus. You are taken to another destination where you play; you can win a maximum multiplier of 400x in this mini-game.
